Troop Support Ministry
Our Schedule
This page was last updated: February 29, 2008
Hello,

My name is Joyce Staiger, and I work with the Troop Support Ministry.  Our teams goal is to send care packages once a month to the active duty personnel in harms way and to hospital chaplains to distribute to the patients overseas.

The men and women need personal care items, toys and snack foods.  The hospital also needs boxer shorts and T- shirts as their wounds do not allow them to wear their issued clothing.

They need to be reminded that they are not forgotten and we at home care.  The wounded need us even more as they are frightened and hurting. In a strange place without family and friends for solace.

But the Samaritan, while traveling came near a man and when he saw him, he was moved with pity.  He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them.  Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn and took care of him.
(Luke 10:25-37)

Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.
(1 Peter 27)
Most of our young people have bruised souls (the hardest and longest to heal), a package from home with things they need like Chapstick, toothpaste, a book or a video to watch, playing cards or even a whoopee cushion lets them know that they are thought of and gives them a chance to play.

We now have cards at the welcome desk for you to add a personal note.  We will add them to the packages.

They are not the least and if they are lost and lonely, there are people at home that care and will do all that we can to bring them home and give them the opportunity to heal. If you have any questions or would like to join our ministry.  Please feel free to contact me at the web site listed below.

We meet on the last Saturday of every month.

Thank you,

Joyce
